IAMM Field Trip

1. The initial statement of IAMM (mission) is to spread the knowledge of entire Islamic world instead of concentrating on Iran and the Middle East. 

2. The audience of IAMM will learn that different nation have their different artefacts. Audience would able know what is the unique for their own artefacts and the evolution of it as well such like the teapot and dish of china.

3. The mood or emotion is quite comfortable and clean. But the light can be brightening a bit to make visitors look clearly those copywriting and artefacts. Make me quite sleepy when the survey is doing still half way because the light is quite soft.

4. Actually I quite curious about why Chinese Dynasty will link with Muslim. How they can combine 2 different designs into the artifacts with 2 different culture backgrounds. I was wonder how they can communicate with each other with 2 different background and language.

5. The coin and the seal are quite interesting for me. Through this trip I just know that the 1^st coin that has in M’sia is Kelantan. And I also curious about why the seal must do like a ring, is it convenient to the king when doing deals every time. It break my mind also because I was thought that ancient people not able to do such complex thing but they did. I wish I can try to wear it to see how heavy it is.

6. - Why every ceramic of china has Arabic Calligraphy on it?

    - How China influence to Islamic Art?

    - How Chinese calligraphy can match with Arabic calligraphy and what they represent for in scroll?
    - How Arabic calligraphy in Chinese style be form?

This is my web design 2 project. I'm supposed to redesign an existing website.

The website i am redesigning is for Serendah. Please answer few of my simple questions.

Web Design 2- Serendah

Serendah
Serendah is a private retreat attempting to tread lightly on the land. Anyway, it is an interest place for those urbanian who like to close to natural. Overall the color scheme was just fix in green and black color.

What i like about the website:
- The rollover effect for the cursor in navigation bar.
- Clear information.

What i dislike about the website:
- Limited space for the content.
- A bit weird when go in to the gallery site, the navigation bar is missing suddenly.
- Color scheme too stiff, not interesting at all.
- Don't know there having a transparency white color bar in "Rates and Reservation" site but others not.
- Font is not so suitable to it.
- Hierarchy not so obvious.

Web Design 2 - Competitors

Taman Buaya Malacca

Good: Simple but nice color combination. Having a some flash plugin. Slideshow for the picture. Logo is animate also. Clear information.

Bad   : Font not so interesting. Hierarchy is not clear enough. A bit not smooth for  picture slideshow. Navigation bar is simple but still acceptable( can make it more interesting)

Minang Cove

Good: Navigation bar is the 1st attract me. Background is clear and simple. Hierarchy clear and typeface nice. Good in slide picture. Overall for me is quite a good website, everything is organized nicely!

 Gunung Mulu

Good: Homepage is giving a mystery style of the Gunung Mulu.Background style is cave texture and quite relate to the title. Font is okay. Frame of the picture is creative, won't be so stiff like just square or round corner.
Bad   : Font is small. Hierarchy could be clear a bit. Too much side plugin when looking at contain, it will confuse the users. Have 2 navigation bar, don't know where to go 1st although both are clickable...

Bunga Raya Resort

Good: Nice logo design. Homepage background is simple but nice. Nice rollover effect when cursor move to the flash plugin. Rollover effect for navigation bar is nice too. When go in to the contain page, everything is in white background, but when the colorful picture is display on top of it, the overall sense is not bad so. Gallery part is different than previous website, it lets users can see a clear every picture in the website. Clear hierarchy, suit font for it. Overall clean and nice.

Web Design 2- Beautiful Website

Analysis: [Gisele Jaquenod]
Good     : Nice graphic elements and layout design. Font is clear. Navigation bar design is interesting for users. Colour scheme is fresh enough.
Bad       : The navigation bar can't even show where is the location after click anyone of it. If can not do like scrolling webpage because is quite not user friendly, try to fix it in 1 webpage and using number to show the previous page.

Analysis: [Morphix]
Good     : Nice design method for webpage[this 3 wed pages are link together when you scroll it from heaven until the underground]. Hierarchy is clear. Nice layout and elements design.
Bad       : Font is slightly small, can try to make it look bigger.

Analysis: [Brown Bag Films]
Good     : Nice rollover effect for board in 1st webpage. Scroll bar design is interesting. Clear hierarchy.  Nice paper cutting art direction with wood[style of recycle]. Background is dark hence has made the frame[contain part] look more outstanding.
Bad       : Because of this website used lots of flash to make it, so will need much time to run it if the internet is slow. Contain part is limited because if frame design.

Analysis: [Rockatee]

Good     : Simple and classic. Clear hierarchy. Contain is clear and organize.

Bad       : Colour scheme a bit bored. Each box can try to not make in square but others. Navigation bar can try to make it bigger as there is still have lots space.

Afterward was the scene that how it solve the trap and run back to its jungle~

Web Design 1- Website Interface Tutorial

From this tutorial, i have learnt lots of matters that how to apply the textures. I like the most is the texture on the paper which is cloud. I think it can work on my invitation card also for my project. Besides that, the text texture- noise, can be added into my project as well.
